Leadership is about character, integrity and courage more than being the smartest, strongest or the best at something. The foundation of a leader is integrity and must be displayed. The dictionary states integrity as; soundness of moral character; honesty. Simply put integrity means true to your word, owning up to your mistakes, not making excuses and taking responsibility for your actions. Courage is doing the right thing, for the right reasons even when no one is around. 3 Important Qualities of a Leader
Just consider me your experiences on that journey. I have read over 150 books on leadership quality, leadership of a master’s degree, and attended extensive courses, seminars and conferences devoted to the leadership qualities and ability to improve. I’m sure there a definitive list of properties to be the world’s largest subjective nature of such a list because leaders will not be held responsible. Every manager faces the issue of mentoring and educating the people who work for them. It’s part of the leadership process to be concerned about improvement and advancement for both the individuals in the group and the group itself. How do you accomplish it? Well, everyone has their own style and every organization has its own development philosophy. So the next step is to put it all together in your own plan for your group. Continuing education is always an option and there is plenty of it available in the market place. Investing in employees by paying for education and allowing them the time to learn on company time is a good idea. This boosts morale and makes employees feel valued which eventually equates to higher productivity and lower turnover.
